Deep Clean vs Standard Clean: How to Price Each

Underpricing first-time deep cleans is one of the most common ways cleaning businesses lose money.

Define each service in writing

A standard clean maintains a home that is already in good shape. A deep clean tackles built-up grime: baseboards, inside appliances, behind furniture, detailed bathrooms.

Price from labor, and expect about double

In our example numbers, a 3-bedroom standard clean takes 3.5 labor hours ($160) and the deep clean about 7 hours ($315). Your own timings may differ, so measure them.

Require a deep clean first

Many cleaners require a deep clean before starting a recurring standard schedule. It resets the home so future standard cleans stay on time and profitable.

Explain the difference on your price list

One line per service describing what is included prevents “but I thought” conversations after the job.
